But perhaps most importantly, where the sofa is going will help you make your final decision. In smaller properties, a petite two-cushion couch is often best. But if space is not a concern, large families can probably get the most out of a larger two-cushion sofa designed to seat four. Regardless, check the dimensions of the couch before buying. A great way to get a feel of how the space is going to feel with your new couch is to cut out a template of your potential couch out of paper and place it on the floor in the intended room. This lets you “preview” the couch in your space before buying.
